Yellow: Know. Bad weather is possible over the next few days and could affect the populations of the area concerned. Yellow means you need to plan ahead with possible travel delays or disruption to your daily activities in mind.

Amber: Be ready. There is an increased likelihood of bad weather affecting people in the affected area which could potentially disrupt people’s plans and possibly lead to travel delays, road and rail closures, power interruptions and potential hazards for life and property.

Red: Take action. Severe weather conditions are expected. Red means people in affected areas need to act now to protect themselves and others from the impact of the weather. Widespread damage, displacement, power outages and life-threatening hazards are likely.
