Nationwide outage affects job search websites in Texas

WorkInTexas.com, associated sites are currently down; TWC establishes a page highlighting other job search tools

AUSTIN — Three job search websites in Texas are offline following a nationwide outage affecting job search websites in many states. Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) contracts with Geographic Solutions, Inc (GSI) to host WorkInTexas.com and two associated sites, MyTXCareer.com and TXInternshipChallenge.com. The outage at GSI began on Sunday, June 26. TWC is working with GSI to understand the impact of the outage and confirm when the system will be back online, although sites are expected to be down until early next week.

TWC created a Web page for people who need resources to find a job, as well as to meet job search requirements during these shutdowns. On the new page, there are alternative resources and a list of other popular job search websites. Additionally, spend a Metric learning is considered an acceptable job search activity and is free to all Texans.

Local Workforce Solutions offices remain open, with full staff ready to assist employers and job seekers. Job seekers can meet their job search requirements and get re-employment resources at a local office. These resources include skills assessments for job matching, educational workshops such as resume preparation, and job market information. Additionally, in-person and virtual career fairs are continually being held across the state and can be found on the TWC Career Fairs Webpage.


Although GSI’s technical shutdown resulted in WorkInTexas.com, MyTXCareer.comand TXInternshipChallenge.com Sign out, TWC website, www.twc.texas.govis managed internally and is not impacted.
